Rain continues for central and southern Minnesota Tuesday and will gradually diminish Wednesday. Temperatures will remain cooler than normal through the week. 

Rain, wind continue Tuesday into Wednesday 

After a wet night, the rain continues pretty steadily Tuesday for central and southern Minnesota. Some of the rain will be heavy at times, especially in southern Minnesota. 

Showers will gradually diminish and become more scattered Wednesday. 

Additional rainfall of up to 1 to 2 inches will fall across southern Minnesota into Wednesday.

In addition, the gusty winds will continue. East winds will blow at 15 to 25 mph with gusts of 30 to 40 mph, but it should lighten up heading into Wednesday.

A wind advisory is posted for portions of northeastern Minnesota Tuesday. While we will see rain in central and southern Minnesota, northern Minnesota will be dry and windy, raising critical fire weather concerns. 

A red flag warning goes into effect from noon through 9 p.m. Tuesday. 

Rain-cooled temperatures will remain in the 40s all day for southern Minnesota with the warmest readings in far northern Minnesota where it will remain dry Tuesday.

With decreasing clouds and dry weather, Thursday will be warmer but still cooler than normal with highs mostly in the 60s.

The holiday weekend looks decent. Temperatures will be near or slightly below normal, mostly in the 60s, with the chance of some showers or thunder Sunday night into Memorial Day.
