Welcome to the first weekend of May in Minnesota.
Our gloomy start Friday gives way to abundant sunshine this weekend. On the map below, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s FV3 model shows Friday’s low clouds breaking up Friday night with mostly clear skies into Sunday.

After a chilly start, highs Saturday will run mostly in the 60s under sunny skies.

Temperatures Sunday will run several degrees warmer. Look for 70s with temperatures near 80 degrees Sunday afternoon in the Red River Valley.

NOAA’s outlooks still favor warmer-than-normal temperatures thorough most of May.
