We get a mostly dry break Wednesday with just a few isolated showers and partly cloudy skies. More rain develops for Thursday into Thursday night and again Sunday into early next week.
Enjoy a mostly dry Wednesday before more rain moves in
We’ll have a pretty pleasant day for most with partly cloudy skies and just a few stray sprinkles mainly across far southern Minnesota Wednesday morning. Most of us will be dry most of the day. Afternoon highs will be above normal for most from around 70 in southern Minnesota to 50s and 60s north, though northwest Minnesota will be cooler.

The next round of rain develops Wednesday night into Friday morning. There could be a thunderstorm or two, but instability will be lacking for widespread thunder.

Most rainfall will be confined to the southern half of the state with this latest round of precipitation. Anywhere from one-quarter inch to 1 inch could fall with locally higher amounts possible in southeast Minnesota.

Temperatures will be cooler Thursday, generally in the 50s with the increased cloud cover and showers.

We’ll have a few lingering showers Friday morning followed by clearing skies for Friday afternoon. Saturday should have more sun and dry weather with highs in the 60s for most of Minnesota.
Another storm system will bring a prolonged chance of on-and-off showers and thunder Sunday into Monday and Tuesday.

We could see our first 80-degree reading in the Twin Cities by Monday as well. Many in southwest and south-central Minnesota have seen their first 80-degree reading already.

The added energy with warmer temperatures and higher dew points, which will likely rise into the 60s, will create the potential for strong to severe storms. There’s already a slight risk of severe storms forecast for Monday into Monday night.

It’s still five days away, so we’ll monitor that scenario more as we get closer to Monday.
