For Saturday evening, the skies stay clear and temperatures drop to 37 in the Twin Cities. Southern Minnesota can expect middle 30s. In northern Minnesota, expect upper 20s to low 30s. It’s the coolest night we will see for a while as the forecast ahead is very mild.

Sunday starts off with sunshine, but clouds will be on the increase through the morning as rain approaches from the south. Those in the metro can expect rain to hold off until the evening. Sunday highs reach to about 60 degrees.

For those of you in southern Minnesota, the rain will move in a bit earlier but morning activities should still stay dry. Northwestern Minnesota misses out completely on this system.

Most of the rain falls Sunday overnight into the early hours of Monday with areas east and south of the Twin Cities collecting the highest rain totals of near an inch. The metro can expect about half an inch or so in the rain gauge.

Showers move out Monday morning and the clouds follow but more showers are in the forecast for the week ahead.

It’s a perfect forecast to spread some grass seed or plant the cool season veggies with consistent rain and temperatures above freezing for the foreseeable forecast. We will have leaves on the trees before we know it.
