Wednesday will be warmer after a cold start with sun through high clouds. The next round of rain and thunder develops Thursday into Friday.
Warmer and bright Wednesday; more rain Thursday
It’ll be a nice day Wednesday with warmer afternoon temperatures after a pretty chilly start. We’ll see sunshine through increasing high clouds with highs in the 60s across southern Minnesota and 50s north. Cooler conditions will prevail along the North Shore.

The next storm system moves in Thursday with showers and some thunderstorms developing into Thursday night and early Friday. While there will be some spotty showers around in the morning, the main event will come later in the afternoon and evening as storms pop up.

There’s a slight risk (level 2 of 5) for severe storms in far southern Minnesota and a marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for some severe weather in the Twin Cities with the late day storms Thursday.

It will also be warmer Thursday across southern Minnesota with highs back in the 60s and even some low 70s in southwestern Minnesota.

Total rainfall will range from one-quarter inch to as much as 1 inch in some of the locally higher amounts of rain associated with thunderstorm cells.

Skies will clear out late Friday for Saturday but another round of moisture could be headed toward the region late Sunday into early next week once again. Weekend temps will be slightly cooler than normal but we should have a fair amount of sunshine both days.
