System dropping rain, snow exits Wednesday
Winter storm warnings and winter weather advisories continue north Wednesday into Wednesday night.

After a lull in the action late Tuesday night into early Wednesday, rain and snow is filling quickly back in through the morning Wednesday. Expect heavy snow midday into the afternoon and overnight for north central and northeastern Minnesota.
The Twin Cities area can expect mainly scattered rain showers though mixing with sleet and snow will be possible this afternoon. Points south of the Twin Cities will see mostly just rain with perhaps even some thunder.

Additional snowfall of several inches to a half-foot is likely for north-central and northeastern Minnesota with more than a half-foot of additional snow along portions of the North Shore into Wednesday night.

Temperatures will be near freezing north but into the 50s for southeastern Minnesota for afternoon highs Wednesday.

Clouds will linger Thursday with some sun late in the day. Temperatures will be slightly below normal readings (which range from about 44 to 51 degrees).

Friday will be warmer with highs in the 50s for southern Minnesota before cooling off again this weekend.

We can enjoy a nice dry stretch of weather starting Thursday into next week with warmer temperatures returning midweek next week. Next week will also yield quite a bit of sunshine!
