A weak disturbance will touch off a few rain showers late Wednesday. Temperatures warm Thursday and Friday ahead of a larger weekend storm system.
Few showers possible late Wednesday with more significant weekend moisture ahead
Temperatures will be above normal Wednesday with highs in the 50s across central and southern Minnesota and 40s north.

Clouds will increase Wednesday afternoon ahead of another weak disturbance that will touch off a few light rain showers for portions of Minnesota late afternoon and evening with increased cloud cover ahead of it.

Temperatures will be warmer Thursday. Highs will be near 60 degrees in the Twin Cities and into the 60s across southern Minnesota with partly cloudy skies.

Friday will be the peak of warmth with highs in the 70s to even near 80 across southern Minnesota while northern Minnesota will remain in the 30s, making for a 50-degree temperature contrast.

We’re still monitoring a complex weekend storm system that will deliver a few rounds of moisture, first to northern Minnesota Thursday night into Friday then statewide Saturday and Sunday. A variety of precipitation types are likely including rain, some freezing rain and snow.

We’ll be watching far northern Minnesota for a potential light freezing rain accumulation Thursday night into early Friday.

The first round of snowfall Friday into early Saturday will be confined to northern Minnesota. There will likely be additional snowfall late Saturday into Sunday across portions of Minnesota but forecast tracks remain uncertain.
