Winds will gust to 50 mph to even near 60 mph along Interstate 90 across Minnesota’s far-south counties, prompting the blizzard warnings.

It’ll be cooler Wednesday with highs in the 30s to low 40s. Northern Minnesota will see sun while clouds will blanket most of the southern half of the state.

Skies will clear overnight as snow showers depart southeastern Minnesota, leading to a colder overnight. Lows will drop into the teens and 20s across the state.

Sunshine is back across most of Minnesota Thursday with temperatures primarily in the 40s with some 50s in western Minnesota. The sun and slightly above-normal temperatures will already start melting that fresh snow in southeastern Minnesota.

Friday will be warmer again in southern Minnesota with more widespread highs in the 50s. There will be a temperature contrast, however, with 20s and 30s north. Weekend temperatures look near or above normal.

The next disturbance looks likely to bring rain and snow Saturday night into Sunday. Exact timing will affect precipitation types and how much snow will fall, but as of Wednesday morning northern Minnesota and western Wisconsin look favored to see the higher amounts.
