Cooler Tuesday, warmer again Wednesday
While not as warm as Monday, Tuesday’s temperatures will be closer to normal. Normal highs are mostly in the 30s to near 40 this for this date. We should have quite a bit of sunshine, too.

It’s already warmer by Wednesday with highs back in the 50s across southern Minnesota with even some low 60s in southwestern Minnesota.

Friday will likely bring the first 70-degree reading of the season in the Twin Cities, coming earlier than the normal date of April 7.

A powerful spring storm system could deliver our first thunder of the season late Friday with rain Friday night turning to snow Saturday as colder air moves in.

There’s even the risk of strong storms late Friday in southeastern Minnesota. While the bigger threat of severe weather will be south of Minnesota, one or two strong storms can’t be ruled out in southeastern Minnesota.

Heavy snow continues to be favored for northern and western Minnesota at this point in the forecast models.

Temps will drop through the day Saturday into Sunday bringing a return to below-normal temperatures by Sunday.
