A cold front will drop temperatures overnight into Tuesday, but warmer air already returns for mid to late week. A spring storm brings thunder, rain and snow late Friday into Saturday.
Briefly cooler before warming up again
After a very mild Monday afternoon, a cold front is switching our wind direction and ushering in cooler air into Tuesday. Lows overnight will be subfreezing across the state. Far northern Minnesota could even see temps drop to near zero.

Tuesday will bring sunshine and temperatures that will be cooler but closer to normal. Normal highs range from 33 north to 40 south.

The warmer air is already back Wednesday with highs returning to the 50s to even near 60 for southern Minnesota along with more sun.

Friday is likely to even bring our first 70-degree reading in the Twin Cities. This would come about 3 1/2 weeks earlier than normal.
A powerful spring storm system will also deliver our first potential thunderstorms late Friday. That rain will turn to snow Saturday, especially in northern and western Minnesota.
