Temperatures will warm back above normal by the weekend

Temperatures are colder Thursday morning and we’ll remain cooler but near normal the next couple of days. Temperatures warm heading into the weekend and early next week. 

Much more quiet and drier weather ahead 

Temperatures will be cooler than earlier this week but near normal with highs mostly in the 30s and some pockets of low 40s, especially west.

We’ll have plenty of sun in southern Minnesota. Clouds will increase in northern Minnesota Thursday afternoon with a few flurries possible there. 

Temperatures will drop overnight back into the teens to near 20 degrees with single digits in northeastern Minnesota.

Friday will bring more sunshine and temperatures mainly in the 30s again.

Overall, the pattern is quiet and dry into the weekend and most of next week with major storms staying south. We are eyeing a potential storm at the end of next week for the region but it’s very early.

Temperatures will be back above normal by the weekend and early next week with 60s possible in western Minnesota by Sunday and Monday. 

There will be a temperature contrast each of the next several days due to the fresh snow in southeastern and south-central Minnesota compared to the bare ground west. Here’s a look at Monday’s forecast highs, for example, alongside current snow depth:
