Above-average temperatures return to the forecast as highs warm into the 40s and 50s for Sunday. A significant spring storm system is starting to develop, bringing rain and potentially plowable snow by Wednesday.
Expect milder temperatures on Sunday, with highs reaching the low 40s and the 50s in southwestern Minnesota. Enjoy plenty of sunshine and light southerly winds.

Overnight temperatures will remain mild, with the metro area dipping into the upper 20s. Most of the state will see lows in the 20s and 30s, though the Iron Range will stay colder, with temperatures in the teens.

Spring storm system
A strong spring storm system is expected to bring gusty winds, widespread rain, and the possibility of accumulating snow from Tuesday into Wednesday. The system has plenty of moisture to fuel these conditions.

A low-pressure system moving through the Central Plains will bring widespread rain Monday night into Tuesday, transitioning to snow late Tuesday.

Strong northwesterly winds will gust between 35 and 45 mph starting Tuesday night and continuing into Wednesday. These winds will create blowing snow, reducing visibility at times.
It’s too early to discuss snowfall totals, but areas east of Interstate 35 have the potential for plowable snow.
