Kevin Yeboah scored a goal in the 69th minute to help Minnesota United beat CF Montreal 1-0 in St. Paul on Saturday.

Tani Oluwaseyi flicked a header from the center of the box toward the goal and Yeboah tapped it in from point-blank range to open the scoring.

“I was really pleased that we won the game because I felt like it was certainly something we deserved,” said Loons coach Eric Ramsay. “It didn’t necessarily look cut and dry until we scored the goal, but I felt up until that point we were really good value for it.”

Notable stats:

  • Loons midfielder Owen Gene made his MLS and MNUFC debut during the home opener as a substitute.

  • Minnesota United won their first Home Opener since 2018 at TCF Bank Stadium, and notably captured three points for the first time in a Home Opener at Allianz Field since the venue opened in 2019.

  • Loons goalkeeper Dayne St. Clair earned his 49th win in net (all competitions) with MNUFC on Saturday night, and is now one win away from earning his 50th victory.

Montreal had 63 percent possession but was outshot 14-3, 6-0 on target, by Minnesota.
