Severe storms are rolling through central Minnesota including the Twin Cities

The mild pattern persists this week with well-above-normal temperatures. We’ll also see a series of relatively minor disturbances bring rain, snow chances.

Very mild Monday, showers developing south

What a difference in just a few days. Temperatures are mostly above freezing Monday morning, setting us up for another very mild day. Highs will be in the 50s for much of southern Minnesota to near 40 degrees north. 

Some outlier forecast models even push us toward 60 degrees in southern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities. Again, this is an outside chance but not impossible!

We’ll also see some light rain showers develop in southwestern and southern Minnesota as the first of a few disturbances moves through this week. There could be some snow showers northeast also. This is the first of a few disturbances moving through this week.

Overnight temperatures will dip just below freezing Monday night, so watch for refreeze from all that melting on Tuesday morning.

Tuesday will be another very mild day. Highs will again be in the 30s, 40s and even low 50s with increasing cloud cover.

Another disturbance will develop scattered rain showers late Tuesday into Wednesday for central and southern Minnesota with potential snow in northeastern Minnesota. 

Any snowfall in northeastern Minnesota looks to be modest and less than 1 inch through early Thursday. 

Temperatures will remain mild, about 10 to 20 degrees above normal all week.
