Many Minnesotans are among those facing unemployment, as the Trump administration slashes jobs across agencies. The state is home to more than 18,000 federal workers, with nearly 60 percent working for the Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

Some 3,000 public health workers and scientists are now out of a job. That's after another wave of mass firings by the Trump Administration last Friday targeting probationary employees in the Department of Health and Human Services. 

MacClement Guthrie was among those let go last weekend. He was a public health advisor working with Minneapolis schools on the prevention of sexually transmitted infections as a part of a fellowship program under the Centers for Disease Control.
