Warmer-than-normal temperatures move in for the weekend

We’ll have a bright Friday with warmer temperatures, although still below normal. It will be very mild by Sunday into next week. 

Sunshine Friday, much warmer for the weekend 

We should see widespread highs in the low 20s Friday afternoon with sunshine for most. Northern Minnesota will see a few more scattered clouds. Pockets of northwestern and southeastern Minnesota may see highs in the upper teens.

Overnight Friday, temperatures will be above zero with mostly single digits and low teens for overnight lows.

The real mild stuff moves in for the weekend. Highs Saturday will be near the freezing mark with a few spots in western Minnesota reaching 40 degrees. Skies will be partly cloudy.

Sunday will see more widespread 40 degree or warmer temperatures in central and southern Minnesota with increased cloud cover. Monday and Tuesday will bring even warmer temperatures. Southwestern Minnesota could reach the low 50s.

An active jet stream and zonal (west to east) flow will bring a disturbance through every 24 to 36 hours.

The result will be a parade of disturbances next week, bringing chances at some light rain mixing with snow showers, mainly north. Most rain and snowfall will be relatively light.
