Slightly cooler Wednesday; warmer Thursday
Weak, cool air has settled into the region behind the snow northeastern Minnesota received Tuesday. The cooler air will be brief and temperatures will still be above normal.
Highs will be in the 30s and even 40s in southwestern Minnesota with 20s north Wednesday afternoon.
Look for even warmer readings to return already for Thursday. Highs will be well into the 40s across southern Minnesota with some 50-degree readings in southwestern Minnesota. Northern Minnesota will see highs in the 30s.

Temps drop again slightly for Friday into the weekend. We’ll still see highs in the 30s south with 10s and 20s north. That’s still above normal for all but northwestern Minnesota.
We’re also watching potential snow mixing with a little rain for the weekend thanks to a couple of systems moving through the region. Right now, northern Minnesota is most favored for any significant snowfall.
Colder air then slides in behind the weekend system Sunday into Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures will once again be below normal, but not as cold as the cold snap we had early last week.
Highs by Monday and Tuesday will be mostly in the teens to near 20 in southern Minnesota. Overnight lows will be quite cold north but mainly remaining above zero in southern Minnesota.
