Chilly air lingers over Minnesota through Wednesday. Temperatures closer to normal — in the teens and 20s — return late week along with light snow chances. 

Below-normal temps start the week, then warmer

Chilly air continues to linger over Minnesota for a couple more days. We’ll have a fair amount of sun with partly cloudy skies Monday and high temperatures ranging from the upper teens in the southeast to the single digits north. 

Overnight Monday won’t be as cold as the last few nights. We should see overnight lows dip into the single digits above zero south to subzero readings north. 

Tuesday will be much of the same with highs mostly back in the teens and single digits.

The colder air retreats midweek allowing for more seasonable temperatures to return. Highs will be mostly in the 20s across southern Minnesota Thursday into the weekend with teens to near 20-degree temperatures north. Overnight lows will also be warmer. 

The retreat of the coldest air means that we’ll be in line for at least some clipper systems bringing a few light snow chances. The first one develops light snow showers Thursday into Friday. 

Many of us could see a coating of snowfall to whiten things up just a bit. Most will see less than 1 inch of snowfall. We’ll see a couple other light snow chances into early next week. The overall temperature pattern looks to be slightly above normal in the six to 10-day period.
