Another cold air mass will keep temperatures in the teens to near zero throughout the weekend. While the Upper Midwest remains calm, a major weather system is impacting the Central Plains.

Low temperatures drop below zero across the state, with the coldest air in northwestern Minnesota. 

Wind chills will be bitterly cold by Saturday morning. In central and southern Minnesota, wind chills will dip into the teens below zero, while northern Minnesota will experience wind chills ranging from 20 to 30 degrees below zero.

With wind chill temperatures plunging to between minus 30 and minus 40, a cold weather advisory is in effect for the northwestern and northeastern regions of the state.

The cold air will keep temperatures in the teens to near zero throughout the weekend. With ongoing north-northwest winds, wind chills will stay below zero across the state.

A major storm system set to move across the Midwest will miss Minnesota. Canadian high pressure overhead will push the storm farther south. Snowfall totals of 8 to 12 inches or more are possible across parts of Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio.
