After a pleasant break in the cloud cover on Saturday, fog and clouds return Saturday night into Sunday. Sunday will bring mild temperatures, ranging from the 30s to 40s.
Another foggy evening
Areas of dense fog will be developing overnight and lingering into Sunday morning. Our time in the sunshine Saturday was short-lived, as more cloud cover is expected. Low temperatures will drop into the upper 20s to lower 30s for central and southern Minnesota, and teens and 20s for northern Minnesota.
Sunday will bring another round of mild temperatures with highs ranging from the 30s to low 40s. Northwestern Minnesota may see temperatures dipping into the 20s.
Final days of December
Looking ahead to the final days of December, the forecast appears dry and quiet. The next weather system will track far enough south toward the Central Plains, with only the southwestern portions of the state experiencing a slight impact. A wintry mix is possible with minor accumulations expected.
Temperatures will gradually drop throughout the week. Monday and Tuesday will see highs in the 30s, followed by the 20s on Wednesday and then the teens as we kick off the New Year on Thursday.
