Temperatures will remain above freezing overnight. Rain develops Friday with highs in the low 40s across southern Minnesota.

Friday brings rain, temps well above normal

The fog will continue for yet another night and day. A dense fog advisory covers much of Minnesota through Friday midday. 

Not only will we see above normal temperatures overnight Thursday into Friday but they’ll be well above even normal high temperatures. Most of central and southern Minnesota will remain above freezing. 

Rain showers develop Friday and fill in with the heaviest steady rain likely in the afternoon and evening across eastern Minnesota. We could see some slushy snow Saturday as colder air moves in if there’s still enough lingering moisture. 

Highs Friday will also be very mild, in the low 40s across southern Minnesota. 

More than one-half inch of rain could fall across eastern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities and Duluth.

The most likely area for snowfall will be northeastern Minnesota Saturday where a slushy inch or two could fall.

Colder temperatures should move back in for the middle of next week, back toward normal levels in the teens and 20s.
