Warmer air will lead to rising temperatures overnight, with south winds ranging from 5 to 10 mph. A wintry mix is possible late Sunday night as a clipper system moves in. Expect a mild week ahead for the holiday.

Surface high pressure over the Great Lakes will bring southerly winds, pushing warmer air northward. 

Saturday night, temperatures in central and southern Minnesota are expected to rise a few degrees overnight. Meanwhile, northern Minnesota may see temperatures drop slightly into the upper single digits and low teens.

Temperatures will rebound into the lower 30s on Sunday, with southerly winds continuing. 

Forecast models are indicating a wintry mix for Sunday night into Monday as a low-pressure system moves through the state, bringing light precipitation that will taper off by early Monday. Snow and ice accumulations remain on the lighter side. 

After the clipper system passes, warmer temperatures will persist, with highs in the 30s throughout the week of Christmas. Travel conditions in the Upper Midwest look favorable, with no major systems expected.
