Minneapolis police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was fatally shot outside his home Monday night.
In a news release, the department said officers responded to reports of a shooting just after 7 p.m. on the 1100 block of East 25th Street, on the city’s south side. They found a teenager with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers attempted CPR and other care but he died at the scene.
Authorities said the boy was outside his home with other people when he was shot, then ran inside. Investigators processed the scene for evidence.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name, or more information about the circumstances of the shooting.
Police Chief Brian O’Hara asked anyone with information about the shooting to share it with police.
“This senseless act of gun violence has destroyed another young life and left another family with a life of grief,” O’Hara said in the news release. “We all must work together to end this level of violence in our neighborhoods.”
There have been no arrests in the case.
