Wintry conditions persist in the Northland, with light snow showers possible in the metro area on Monday. A surge of colder air will arrive mid-week, bringing sub-zero temperatures.
Northern Minnesota remains affected by the ongoing winter system, with Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings still in effect due to heavy snow accumulations. The heaviest impacts are expected along the North Shore and in Cook County, where snowfall rates are exceeding an inch per hour.
Rollercoaster temperatures all week
After a warm weekend, a blast of Arctic air will move in by mid-week. Sunday night will bring mild overnight lows near freezing.

Monday will start off with mild temperatures, reaching highs in the upper 30s to around 40 degrees.
As the cold front moves through on Monday, light snow showers are possible as cooler air starts to filter in.
A slight drop in temperatures will come on Tuesday with highs in the mid-20s. But the big cooldown will come Wednesday into Thursday. Widespread teens across southern Minnesota, with single digits above and below zero for central and northern Minnesota.
Temperatures will quickly rebound, with highs returning to near average in the upper 20s to low 30s by Friday and into the weekend.
