Behind a cold front, temperatures will fall through Wednesday with gusty northwest winds. We’ll see subzero wind chills statewide Wednesday night into Thursday morning before warming up.
A snow squall warning was in effect through 11:30 a.m. for parts of the Twin Cities region:

High winds and a coating of fresh snow are reducing visibility in northwestern Minnesota Wednesday, prompting a winter weather advisory through 6 p.m. A wind advisory is posted for much of the rest of Minnesota Wednesday.
For the rest of us, we’ll see some scattered freezing light rain and snow showers ahead of the front early Wednesday and in the afternoon. Watch for some slick spots. Any snowfall accumulations will be just a quick dusting to a coating.

Our high temperatures for Wednesday came early this morning. Temperatures will fall through the day behind the potent cold front. By evening, temperatures will be in the teens and single digits.
Gusty northwest winds will bring the cold and create wind chills. Winds will howl at 15-30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph or more. Parts of the North Shore could see 60-mph gusts.
Overnight lows will fall into the single digits for most with subzero readings in northwestern Minnesota by early Thursday morning.
Wind chill values early Thursday will be subzero statewide with wind chills in the teens below zero even in western Minnesota Thursday morning.
Highs Thursday will be in the teens and single digits but we should see more sunshine and winds will gradually lighten.
Temperatures rebound into the 20s and teens by Friday and we’re in for a comparative “heat wave” by the weekend. Highs will be in the 30s and even 40 degrees Saturday and Sunday across southern Minnesota.
Another weaker clipper system will likely sweep through northeastern Minnesota Friday into Saturday bringing potentially light accumulations.
