Cold air and light snow showers move in for Sunday night. Our first wave of Arctic air will bring plunging temperatures on Monday, dropping into the 20s, accompanied by breezy winds. Mid-week will be quiet and calm, with a second blast of cold air arriving on Thanksgiving Day.
Winter Weather Advisory
A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Northland from 10 p.m. Sunday until 9 a.m. Monday. Widespread snow totals of 2 to 5 inches are possible, with higher amounts in the higher terrain areas.
Further south and west, snow totals will decrease to just a few inches. The northern metro will experience a rain/snow mix early Monday morning, with only a trace of snow expected.

The first of two fronts will clear out by early Monday, but lingering snowflakes are possible through Tuesday. Sunshine will begin to break through late Monday and continue intermittently on Tuesday.
Thanks-chilling forecast
The turkey won’t be the only thing needing to thaw out this week. Two waves of cold air will push temperatures well below average throughout the week. Monday’s highs will occur right around midnight, and then continue to drop through the day into the 20s.
Winds will be breezy out of the northwest at 10-20 mph, creating wind chills in the teens and single digits.
Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to low 30s through Thanksgiving, before a second burst of cold air brings highs in the teens and 20s on Friday. Some light flurries are possible Wednesday into Thursday but at this time, we will just keep an eye on the forecast.
Black Friday shoppers will need to bundle up, as below-zero wind chills are expected Friday morning! Stay warm!
