It’ll be a crisp day Wednesday with gusty winds, scattered snow showers and cold temperatures mostly in the 30s and upper 20s. Friday may bring some peeks of sunshine.
Cold and windy with scattered snow showers
It’s beginning to look a lot like winter, especially in northwestern Minnesota. Temperatures are as much as 20 degrees colder early Wednesday than they were Tuesday morning.
We’ll have scattered snow showers on and off through the day Wednesday. The snow will be more substantive in northwestern Minnesota where there’s a winter weather advisory through the evening Wednesday.
Places in northwestern Minnesota have already seen anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of snow as of mid-morning Wednesday.

Many of us could see up to 1 inch of a slushy coating of snow on grassy surfaces. A few more inches are possible in northwestern Minnesota Wednesday, meaning some spots in the northwest could see up to 6 inches of total snow since Tuesday!
High temperatures will be mostly in the 30s with subfreezing highs in western Minnesota. These readings are actually just below normal. The normal high for this time ranges from 31 degrees in International Falls to 39 in the Twin Cities.
Wind chill values will be in the teens and 20s through the day with gusty west winds at 10 to 30 mph.
Thursday will remain mostly cloudy and on the windy side. Highs will be slightly warmer, near 40 in eastern Minnesota with 30s west.
Friday offers hope of at least some peeks of sunshine but otherwise the pattern remains more cloudy than not. Even colder air could move in next week.
