Record highs are again possible Tuesday for southern Minnesota. Showers will develop in northern Minnesota and expand statewide into Wednesday.
Record warmth again Tuesday with rain on the way, maybe snow for some Thursday
Several areas of the state reached or broke record-high temperatures Monday. That will likely happen again Tuesday in southern Minnesota. If we hit 80 in the Twin Cities, it’ll be one of the latest 80-degree readings on record.
Showers will develop in northern Minnesota near a cold front that will slowly push south overnight into Wednesday. Scattered rain showers will expand as an upper-level disturbance gives a boost to the overall atmospheric setup.
The rainfall looks to be heaviest in southeastern Minnesota and the North Shore into western Wisconsin.

It still looks possible southwestern Minnesota into the Twin Cities could become “dry-slotted” from this system as drier air is sucked in on the southwest side of the low. That could limit rainfall totals in the Twin Cities area.
Some areas could even see snow Wednesday night into Thursday as enough cold air wraps into the back edge of the system.
Most showers should wrap up by Thursday evening for trick-or-treaters, but it will be chilly with near-normal temperatures.
Another round of rain is possible this weekend as another system moves into the region. This could be prolonged event with showers possible late Saturday into Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. The six to 10-day precipitation outlook calls for a likelihood of above-normal precipitation.
