We’re back into a couple of cooler days Thursday and Friday, though temperatures will still be a bit above normal. 80-degree temperatures return Saturday for southern Minnesota.
Cooler couple of days before more warm air moves back in Saturday
After our second cool front of the week, temperatures will be cooler Thursday and Friday. Highs will range from the upper 60s south to the upper 50s north. Believe it or not, those readings are still several degrees above normal. Normal highs range from the mid-50s north to mid-60s south.
The cooler day will set us up for a cool night Thursday thanks to clear skies and calm winds. Overnight lows Thursday night will be the coolest since early May for many. We’ll see widespread 30s north and west with 40s in the Twin Cities and southeast Minnesota.
Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy Thursday but sunny Friday thanks to cool high pressure. Friday will be a degree or two warmer with highs near 70 south to the mid-60s north.
Stop me if you’ve heard this before, but very warm air will once again blow back in for Saturday. Highs will return to the low 80s in southern Minnesota, nearly 15 to 20 degrees above normal. The next cool front late Saturday will touch off a chance for some showers in northeast Minnesota and Wisconsin, but don’t get too excited. Rainfall looks spotty even in those areas.
