This spectacular late September weather pattern continues through  the weekend. Temperatures Friday afternoon reached record levels in Duluth at 84 degrees. The Twin Cities topped out at 85 degrees Friday. That just 3 degrees shy of the record high.

Mid 80s covered much of Minnesota late Friday. Yes, it feels way more July than almost October around here. 

I’m getting a little concerned about fire danger in parts of Minnesota. The Minnesota DNR reports fire danger is high to very high now in parts of western and northern Minnesota. 

And forecast models suggest Minnesota will see little or no rain for the next 10 days. Take a look at this European model’s 10-day precipitation output. 

Next week’s drought update is going to show some ugly colors in parts of Minnesota as drought deepens. 

This weekend brings more of the same. Our weather pattern remains stuck in summer gears. Bluebird skies and Highs in the 80s will cover most of Minnesota this weekend. 

Monday will be warm across most of Minnesota. But a noticeable cool front will get your attention as it blows from northwest Minnesota by Monday afternoon into the Twin Cities Monday evening. 

Highs Tuesday will feel brisk with 60s south and 50s north. Hues of blue return to the weather maps next week.

Temperatures will sneak into the lower 70s again next week in the south.
