A picture-perfect end to meteorological summer as Saturdays temperatures top out in the mid-80s with sunshine.

We will continue to have that dry cold front inching its way through the metro area early Saturday evening, pushing off to the southeast. There will be a wind shift to the northwest, as breezy conditions diminish towards late Saturday night.

Behind the front, low temperatures Saturday night will drop into the mid to upper 50s metro-wide, and lower 50s for central and southern Minnesota. Cooler lows in the mid to upper 40s for the northland.

A large temperature difference between Saturday and Sunday behind the cold front. Highs on Sunday will reach the lower to mid-70s statewide, with some cooler upper 60s for northeastern Minnesota.

Canadian high pressure will move into the upper Midwest for Sunday into Labor Day. Continued sunshine, light winds and quiet weather expected for the holiday.

Our string of 70 degree days continues well into Tuesday before a slight warm-up to the 80s for Wednesday.

Our next chance for precipitation shows up Wednesday night into Thursday. The models are picking up on a small disturbance that will bring a chance for scattered showers. Widespread showers and severe are not anticipated at this time.
