Most of southern Minnesota got hammered by two waves of severe storms in the past 24 hours. The first wave was a classic bow echo Monday evening.
The second wave Tuesday morning also caused significant damage.
Our skies dry out through Wednesday. Patchy fog gives way to plenty of sun. Highs will be in the 70s to low 80s Wednesday.
Our next storm wave arrives Thursday. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Global Forecast System model shows the likely rain and thunder line between 7 a.m. Thursday and 1 a.m. Friday:
These storms are not likely to be as severe as our recent storm waves. NOAA puts much of Minnesota at marginal (category 1 of 5) risk Thursday.
We dry out with plenty of sunshine and cooler temperatures for the Labor Day weekend!
