This time temperatures will rise above our normal high of 80 degrees in the Twin Cities on Saturday and Sunday. And this time, humidity levels will make it feel like mid-summer, even as the calendar careens toward September. 

Highs on Saturday will run well into the 80s across most of Minnesota.

Sunday looks like the hottest day for the next week. Highs near 90 degrees will be common across much of southern and western Minnesota including the Twin Cities area. 

Most of this weekend looks dry, although a weak disturbance may spark a few isolated thunderstorms in the tropical air mass, especially late Saturday. 

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s FV3 is one model that develops a few storms across southern Minnesota late Saturday afternoon. The loop below runs between 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday. 

Most of next week looks warm and a bit humid with highs mainly in the 80s. Occasional, scattered storms will be in the forecast next week.

A colder front still looks likely as we head into Labor Day weekend. Highs in the 60s to 70s look likely around Labor Day. 

There are signs we will warm up again after that.
