We’ll have lingering clouds and a few showers Thursday. Sunshine is back for Friday and Saturday with highs near 90 before cooler air arrives Sunday.
Severe weather and torrential rains
Wednesday and Wednesday night storms packed a punch of numerous high wind and large hail reports.
Southern Minnesota saw some torrential rainfall. There were numerous reports of 3 to 4 inches of rainfall or more in the southeastern quadrant of the state.
Lingering clouds, showers Thursday. Then hot and sunny again
We’ll have lingering showers and clouds for the first part of Thursday for central Minnesota into western Wisconsin before clouds slowly decrease in the afternoon and evening.

It’ll be cooler due to the cloud cover in central and southern Minnesota, but still humid with highs in the 70s to near 80 degrees Thursday afternoon. It will be much warmer in northwest Minnesota with more sunshine.
Sunshine and hot weather are back Friday and Saturday. Highs both days will be near 90 degrees for the first couple days of August. Dew points won’t be as high as in recent days, mostly in the 60s versus the 70s.
Cooler air starts to move in Sunday into next week, bringing below-normal temperatures — mostly in the 70s — by midweek.
We’ll also see the next chance for some showers and thunder Sunday and Monday. The 6 to 10 day and 8 to 14 day temperature outlooks both call for a likelihood of below-normal temperatures.
