Continued showers and thunderstorms; Wildfire smoke continues

Look for showers and thunderstorms for Sunday, mainly south of Interstate 94. Forecast models showing some re-development this afternoon and evening. Showers will once again be slow moving, so some heavier rainfall is possible. The threat for severe weather remains minimal.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms expected in the afternoons, through Tuesday.

Forecast models show a nearly stationary front draped across Minnesota for early this week, before a stronger cold front moves in for Tuesday.

Temperatures will continue to climb into the lower 80s this week. Inching upwards to the upper 80s by next weekend. Our dew points continue to be sticky in the lower to mid-60s.

Air quality concerns this week.

Wildfire smoke from Canada will continue to infiltrate the state this week. We have weaker northerly winds aloft allowing that smoke and haze to linger through the week. The air quality forecast is at a moderate level.
