Chilly Saturday into Sunday morning, then temps rebound

Dry weekend in most areas

Much of Minnesota and western Wisconsin saw Saturday morning lows in the lower 30s to upper 20s.

Some spots in northwestern Minnesota were even colder, with 24 degrees reported at Thief River Falls and 25 degrees at Hallock and Roseau. The Saturday morning low temp at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 31 degrees.

Weekend temperatures

The average Twin Cities high temperature is 59 degrees on April 20. Metro area highs will be closer to 50 degrees Saturday afternoon, with a lot of 40s across Minnesota and western Wisconsin:

Some spots in southwestern Minnesota could top 50 degrees. Wind gusts of 20 to 25 mph are possible today.

It’ll be very chilly overnight tonight. You’ll need to cover tender outdoor plants or bring potted plants indoors to withstand the chilly temps.

Low temperatures will dip into the upper 20s and lower 30s late Saturday night into early Sunday morning:

Lows in the Twin Cities metro area will be mainly in the lower 30s.

Temperatures rebound nicely Sunday afternoon. High will reach the lower 60s in southern Minnesota and up into the Red River Valley of northwestern Minnesota, with mainly 50s elsewhere:

Dry weekend

Most of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will have a dry weekend. Northeastern Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin could see a few flurries at times Saturday morning, with a stray morning flurry possible elsewhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the potential precipitation pattern from noon Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday:
