We have a high pressure system parked off to our southwest. That will keep winds light Saturday night into early Sunday and allow fog to form. Parts of Minnesota and western Wisconsin will see freezing fog at times.
The best chance of dense fog Saturday night into Sunday morning will be in southern Minnesota. Patchy dense fog is possible elsewhere in Minnesota and western Wisconsin.

The dense fog advisory runs from 7 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for most of the grey-shaded counties, but it will continue until 10 a.m. Sunday in Olmsted County and adjacent counties. Additional counties could be added to the dense fog advisory overnight or early Sunday.

Who will see Sunday sunshine?
Most of western Minnesota had plenty of sunshine Saturday afternoon. Much of eastern Minnesota, including the Twin Cities metro area, had another cloudy day. Some spots in eastern Minnesota, including the Mille Lacs Lake area, saw sunshine by mid afternoon.
Western Minnesota will have plenty of sunshine on Sunday, after the morning fog burns off. Eastern Minnesota will see some breaks develop in the cloud cover during the afternoon hours.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the potential cloud coverage from 8 a.m. Sunday to 5 p.m. Sunday:
Temperature trends
The Twin Cities Saturday high temp of 37 degrees happened around 1 a.m. Saturday. The afternoon high temp at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport was 34 degrees. Blaine hit 36 degrees. The average Twin Cities high temperature is just 24 degrees on Jan. 27.
Sunday high temperatures will be mainly in the 30s, but some spots in southwestern and west-central Minnesota could reach the lower 40s:
A few spots in the Twin Cities metro area could touch 40 degrees.
Monday high temps are forecast to reach the 40s across roughly the southern half of Minnesota plus west-central Wisconsin:
Most of northern Minnesota will have Monday highs in the 30s.
Twin Cities metro area highs are projected to be around 40 degrees on Tuesday, followed by mid 40s Wednesday then upper 40s Thursday and mid 40s on Friday. Above-normal temperatures are expected next weekend and through the following week.

It was much colder last Saturday! The Twin Cities low temperature was 5 below zero on Jan. 20 and the high temperature was just 11 above zero.
