I’ll get to the weekend forecast after a quick update on our Thursday snow chances.
A clipper system will bring snow to much of southern Minnesota and west-central Minnesota Thursday into Thursday evening. Some spots in far southwestern Minnesota could see 2 to 3 inches of snow.
The Twin Cities metro area and parts of central Minnesota and west-central Wisconsin could see some light snow showers at times Thursday afternoon and evening.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 2 p.m. Thursday through 10 p.m. Thursday:

Most of Minnesota and Wisconsin will have a precipitation-free weekend.
NOAA’s North American Mesoscale Forecast System model shows the potential precipitation pattern from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 p.m. Sunday:
Weekend temperatures
Low temperatures early Saturday morning will reach the teens below zero across much of Minnesota:
Lows in the single digits below zero are expected Saturday morning in the Twin Cities metro area and in western Wisconsin.
The average Twin Cities high temperature is 23 degrees on Jan. 20. Metro area highs will be closer to 10 degrees this Saturday. Much of Minnesota will have single-digit high temps Saturday afternoon:
Sunday morning low temperatures will be in the single digits below zero in most areas:
Sunday high temps reach 20 degrees or warmer in the Twin Cities and in much of southern Minnesota, with teens in most of central and northern Minnesota:
That’ll feel fairly mild after our current stretch of arctic cold!
