Fargo-Moorhead News

Today in Fargo-Moorhead: Council meetings tonight

Is it feeling like January yet? The high temperatures Monday and Tuesday are in the mid-teens. The Fargo-Moorhead area will likely see snow later in the week and an even colder weekend.

The Fargo Forum reports homelessness is increasing in metro Moorhead. A local shelter is adding a 36-unit apartment building to the city.

It also reports in a financial downturn, a Grand Forks animal shelter may close its adoption center and cut services as soon as February.

If you’re heading to southwest or southeast Minnesota in the next couple of days, be wary: A winter storm is making travel tough through at least Wednesday on parts of I-94 and north of Fargo. It’s the start of an active winter weather week across the state. Check out road conditions on 511mn.org and dot.nd.gov.

Speaking of cold, icy things: Minnesota won 3-0 in its Professional Women’s Hockey League home opener Saturday.

Monday is Moorhead and Fargo’s city council meetings. Check out their agendas on the city websites: Moorhead and Fargo.

Monday is also Midwest Martini Night at Junkyard Brewing and Open Mic at Front Street Taproom. On Tuesday, Front Street is also hosting trivia and Boss Comedy Club hosts open mic talent.
