After a frigid start, Tuesday’s temperatures will be warmer than Monday’s but still below normal. Milder air builds in for Wednesday into the weekend.
Cold air departs as milder pattern develops
After a cold start, with many locations experiencing the coldest low temperatures so far, we’ll rebound Tuesday. While still below normal, afternoon high temperatures will be warmer than Monday. We’ll also have patchy cloud cover.

Wind chill values by Tuesday afternoon will be improved thanks to lighter winds and warmer temperatures.

South winds will develop along with a shift in the upper level pattern allowing for warmer air to move in for Wednesday. Highs will be into the 40s across southern Minnesota.

Temperatures remain near or above normal into the weekend.
We’re watching a developing storm system closely for the weekend. It could bring rain and snow to the Upper Midwest, including parts of Minnesota.
