Minneapolis police say missing 12-year-old girl has been found safe

Minneapolis police say a 12-year-old girl reported missing earlier this week has been found safe.

In an initial social media post early Wednesday, authorities said the girl had been last seen Tuesday night in Northeast Minneapolis, and her cell phone later pinged in St. Paul before either running out of power or being turned off.

In a later update, police said the girl had been located and was safely back home. They thanked people who shared information about the case.
