Update 11:35 pm:
The Twin Cities NWS Office has now included the entire Twin Cities area in the severe thunderstorm watch zone until 4 am.
Severe storms with a history of 70 to 80 mph winds and power outages are approaching the Twin Cities from the west as of this update.
Expect potentially severe storms with large hail and damaging winds to move from west to east between about midnight and 3 am across the greater Twin Cities area.

NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for most of southern Minnesota until 4 am Wednesday. The watch zone includes areas just west of the Twin Cities. But some forecast models suggest strong to potentially severe storms are also possible in parts of the Twin Cities overnight.
Stronger cells will produce large hail and potentially damaging winds. Heavy rainfall is also possible and will be welcome in many areas.

925 PM CDT Tue Jul 25 2023 The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a
* Severe Thunderstorm Watch for portions of Southwest Minnesota
* Effective this Tuesday night and Wednesday morning from 925 PM until 400 AM CDT.
* Primary threats include... Scattered damaging winds likely with isolated significant gusts to 75 mph possible Scattered large hail and isolated very large hail events to 2 inches in diameter possible A tornado or two possible
SUMMARY...A cluster of storms, with embedded supercells initially, is expected to grow upscale while spreading southeastward across western and southern Minnesota. Large hail will be possible initially, and the threat for damaging winds up to 75 mph will increase overnight. An isolated tornado or two may also occur with embedded circulations. The severe thunderstorm watch area is approximately along and 40 statute miles north and south of a line from 65 miles northwest of Redwood Falls MN to 55 miles east of Redwood Falls MN.
