We will have some isolated thunderstorms Monday as hot air moves into Minnesota. Highs will be in the 90s south and 80s north. Smoke is also creating air quality issues Monday.
Air quality and smoky skies
An air quality alert remains through 6 p.m. Monday for much of central and northern Minnesota. Canadian wildfire smoke returned to the skies of Minnesota over the weekend and is creating areas of unhealthy air quality.

Hot all week, spotty storm chances
We will have some isolated showers and thunderstorms early Monday with the possibility of some isolated storms redeveloping late in the day Monday. Warmer air moving in may prevent storms from popping up, however, acting as a stable cap on the atmosphere.
Highs Monday will be in the low 90s south to low 80s north with partly cloudy skies.
The peak of the heat will come Wednesday and Thursday when some places could reach 100 degrees in southern Minnesota.
The next best chance of more spotty storms comes Thursday, but there will be an occasional isolated risk of thunder as Minnesota sits on the edge of the heat dome much of the week.
