Anoka County authorities ID girl struck by vehicle

Authorities in Anoka County reported Sunday evening that they had identified a girl who was seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle while riding her bike.

Earlier in the day, authorities had asked for the public’s help in identifying the girl, who was estimated to be 8 to 12 years old.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office reported Sunday evening that the girl’s family had been contacted. There was no update on her condition.

The crash happened just after noon near East River Road NW and Foley Blvd NW in Coon Rapids. It remains under investigation by the Coon Rapids Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
