We’re enjoying a sun-splashed Friday across Minnesota and Wisconsin. This pleasant weather will continue in many areas this Memorial Day weekend.
Dry Saturday and Sunday
A nearby surface high-pressure system and ridging aloft will keep Minnesota and Wisconsin dry Saturday and Sunday.
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s North American Mesoscale (NAM) forecast model shows the surface pressure pattern and the potential rain pattern from 4 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday:
The upper-level ridging breaks down a bit on Monday and the surface high-pressure system will shift slightly eastward. Those events will allow a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms to enter western Minnesota on Memorial Day.

Memorial Day weekend temperatures
The average May 27 Twin Cities high temperature is 73 degrees. Metro area highs are expected to be around 80 degrees Saturday.
Much of Minnesota will have Saturday highs in the lower 80s, with mainly 70s in northeastern and southeastern Minnesota plus western Wisconsin:
Highs in the 80s are expected in most areas on Sunday, with 70s near Lake Superior:
Memorial Day high temps reach well into the 80s in most locations:
There will be some 70s near Lake Superior.
Dew points will be in the very comfortable 40s across Minnesota and western Wisconsin through most of this holiday weekend. Parts of western Minnesota could see dew points rise into the lower 50s on Memorial Day.
