Expect driest Memorial Day weekend in 16 years
Highs in the 80s for the next several days
There’s an old saying about the weather along the lines of: There really is no bad weather, just different kinds of good weather.
That sentiment rings true for the next week or so around Minnesota.
One good weather forecast trend is a sunnier, warmer, drier weather pattern we’ll see for the next several days. We’ve certainly earned it after the seemingly endless winter of 2022-23.
Simply put, the weather looks spectacular for this first of the three big holidays of the warm season in Minnesota.

With not even a drop of rain likely, this will likely be the driest Memorial Day weekend in 16 years for most of Minnesota. Much of the state does need rain.
Highs in the 80s will rule most of Minnesota this weekend. Cooler by your favorite Great Lake with highs mostly in the 70s.

The thermometer hit 90 degrees in northwestern Minnesota at Hallock on Friday afternoon. So far the Twin Cities has topped out at 80 degrees. Get used to it.
Highs will soar into the upper 80s to near 90 degrees across most of Minnesota next week.
Forecast models suggest scattered rain and thunder chances next week. But there is great variation on where and how much rain will fall.
Overall the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration outlook for next week favors drier-than-average weather.
