There's an annual event at Concordia College in Moorhead that features National Book Award honorees, and this year it was held virtually. One of the featured authors was David Treuer, the author of "The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee: Native America from 1890 to the Present."
You can also hear a refugee story written by Omar Mohamed and illustrated by Victoria Jamieson. It’s titled, “When Stars are Scattered.”
Former MPR and NPR reporter John Ydstie was the moderator of this year's event held March 11th at Concordia College in Moorhead.
