Tank and the Bangas perform at the Turf Club in St. Paul on Tuesday night. The band won NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert for unsigned bands in 2017, and released their latest album, “Green Balloon,” last May. The group’s vocalist, Tank Ball, has said that in New Orleans, where the band is based, a common phrase is “she’s as green as a blade of grass.”

“Green is about being naïve,” Ball added.
