With top-level professional teams in baseball, football, basketball, hockey and soccer, there's no question that Minnesota is big league when it comes to sports — but that wasn't always the case.
A new television documentary premiering at 9 p.m. Monday on Twin Cities PBS looks at a pivotal year for Minnesota sports. "Becoming Big League" takes us through the events of 1960 and how they shaped the future of sports in our state. MPR News guest host Phil Picardi spoke with the program's producer, Daniel Bergin, to learn more.
