For the second year in a row, an April snowstorm dumped heavy wet snow across much of the state.
High winds downed trees and power lines in counties in southern Minnesota, causing thousands to lose power. Whiteout conditions and ice-covered roads also caused traffic accidents and interstate closures.
Blizzard and winter storm warnings continue into Friday morning with another 5 to more than 10 inches expected to fall across much of western, central and northern Minnesota.
